What do you think so far of this book? How do you feel the difference in this book from others by the way it is written?
What do you think so far of this book? How do you feel the difference in this book from others by the way it is written affects our reading it properly. PS screwed up on the last one after I checked.
I would defently say this is a challing book so complacaded it looks easy and stuff but its hard to under stand. this bok is mainly seeming abou the Kue klux klan its trying to get people to join and run every body out of bueness what im wondering is if its gona work. at the begging leanard sutter walkes on the rail road from New York to Virginia a short time after her ddada came running over and she is in New york and shes staying with Sara in her barn where leanara now works and there is this peorson who is a Rum runner and her name is Iris and the only reason she does this is beacuse she baught that place a long time ago and she has nothing els to do but she could still go to jail but she does it eney way. leanara lives in virginia and she also goes to school there she is only twelve years old the most wond ering that i have i s where is her mom in the story it dosent say eneything did she die or go away or what i would think that would be a big part of the story. this is a true story so im told and nothing in here i would think could be hapening like a little black twelve year old girl walking from New York to virginia wow.
Right now in the book im not getting most of it. it mackes no sence this is one of the hardest book there it is frusterating. I think the klu klux klan is going to run everyboty out of buesness it seems like it plays the most important part right now and i think at the end of the book its gona take over and then all the townes people are going to get back at the klu klux klan
You KNOW WHERE IT SAID A RICH jew boy was kid napped and the kidnappers asked the rich dad to give a big reward and sent the letter and they killed him and threw him in a ditch just so they could see what it feels like just to prove that they could. Well rembiring that this is a true story that really did happen i have a question why would some do that
Hailee are you saying this is a true story? I had no clue about that. Do you think the boys realy were just proving they could kill, or were they trying to copy a Kuku Klucking Klan sceem. Why do you think they realy did that and why. Do you think the trian was realy just an accedent, or did the train try to kill a jew girl after the death of a jew boy. I think it was not just coincidence and that it was staged. I tink this because on page 76 the way Merlin Van Tornhtout acts to the saving of Esther. The way he is so discusted about her being saved and a colored girl saving her and being in the paper. If you remmember he says, "i could have saved the kid." "i didn't try" This makes me wonder all though he seemed kind of happy at the end. I don't know.
yes mr chrestensen sais it was a true story and half the things in here i cant belive R true an example um when they killed that rich boy and they just wanted to do that so they could be proud it said it exacly said.theve been planning this since november we only did it to show that we could to see what it feels like might not seem like thats true but there are and was people that do that.
since sawer is really into vilonce and stuff he seems to love the kkk and and the cross burning. i would say rating this book 1-10 i would have to go with a number 8 i love the acion and all the kkk and leanara sutter saving that girl from the train its a little more challinging that i wanted but its awsome.
i like the no capitelashon so i wont use it but i must say i am surprised that a charicter actuly died how about you guys. well i may be a pyro but thinking about the kkk makes me sick. besides red and blach are my favorite colors not white iwoudent be chaut dead in the kkk.
guys you know when it said blazes ,fire rising or something like that on the cross well u kinow how horrible it is that there doing that and running people out of buesness there are bad discusting people and this is a true story so just think that there are really people like that and were like that
Do you guys think there is a reason for the no capitalization in this story? I think it is because most of it is more thought than anything else. What I mean is it is like a script of people/character’s thoughts, feelings, and speech. For example on page ten it says “Willie said :At the clan meeting last night the dragons talked about lighting you and your daddy up, to give you some warmth on a cold day. you'd be cheep fuel, they said, they like the smell of barbeque, they said." Even though it just makes me sick, it is a good example of what I am saying. After she tells us what Willie says, she describes how she feels about it. Her thoughts are not really sentences, so i think that is why there is no capitalization.

Hailee, I did not think of that. Remember page 42 Esther's mom died but it never talks about Leanora's mom. Interesting!
