Absolutely Normal Chaos Conversations

I think that Mary Lou is a very hilarious character. She kind of reminds me of Junie B. Jones or Kenny from The Watsons Go To Birmingham. The author explains things in a lot of detail. Especially when she writes how Mary describes Carl Ray. I think that he is an odd guy. He doesn't seem like he would just fit automatically in with anybody. I call him the "Odd-one-out." I wonder why he says a lot more when Maggie talks to him. And I am also wondering why he asked Mary about Mr. Furtz. Does he know the guy? If so, how?
I felt really sad when Mr. Furtz died. Even though he wasn't even mentioned very much, it still is kind of sad. One thing that I felt was pretty weird was when Carl Ray reached to grab Mr. Furtz's arm. I wonder where Carl Ray will work now?
There were 2 things that have really popped out at me, during the section that we've read recently. The first one is that it seems like Mary Lou is a very opinionated person. And she isn't afraid to say what she is thinking. The second one is, she related back to her Odyssey book a few times. For example, on page 79 she said, "I wish I had some of that wine for Mrs. Furtz."
Chloe, you're right. Just like when Mary Lou related back to the O Muse” My muse has utterly abandoned me."P.74. It's very weird that Carl Ray got funding for college & 5,000 bucks for a car. $$$$$! I smell a rat. Something is definitely wrong. Anyone else smell a rat. I think we should read 10 more days (July 26).Bye
I agrree with you sammy with the money because one second he has the average allowance then pop! he has $5,000 dollars! mabe he was in a loan sharking, which means he will have to pay triple money or be dead,how else how he got the money? carl ray is a weird one I have to say.
Yeah, it is kind of weird how Carl Ray did get the $5,000. I mean, who would want to give that kind of money, to that kind of kid? If Carl Ray had some kind of connection with Mr. Furtz, maybe in his will he stuck 'Give $5,000 to Carl Ray'? I thought that one really funny part was when Alex Cheevey grabbed Mary's hand! But at first, I kind of thought that Alex Cheevey was a jerk like Carl Ray because he barely said anything. And you know that one girl,Christy? Well, she sure seems like a stealer-of-boyfriends, doesn't she?
carl rays family are weird because the way they talk sounds like somthing out of a seventys movie. with the ring why did everyone act like the twin towers collapsed again.carl rays family are weird people,I have to say
When Carl Ray went with Alex Cheevey and Mary Lou to the movies, I thought he was being kind of rude. You know keeping a "too-close-of-an-eye" on them. I mean, Mary does deserve some privacy! She needs to be able to enjoy life without her annoying family members. What do you guys think about Absolutely Normal Chaos becoming a movie?
I think it would be cool if they kept most every detail, but it would stink if they didn’t keep them all. I have a challenge for you. Mary Lou’s mom tells Mary Lou to open her vocabulary. Look in a thesaurus to find different words that mean the same as words you use every day. On the blogg, put down how many times you used a word and how many times you replaced it. I’ve already started. Stupid: 1; Diff.: 5. Word Thesaurus word Right this second I am on page 152 Fri. July 27, the first words are “Oh,Diety!” which means Oh, god. She found that word in a thesaurus.

Sammy, I don't really get what you mean. And it's hard for me to keep track of how many words I've used. But here is a little something. Try talking like Alex Cheevey's mom. She says the word at the end of her sentences three times. Also, try talking like Beth Ann (Derek-the-diviiiiiiiiiiiiine) Even Mary!
I really liked Sammy's discussion, discussion, disscusion. I agree that it would be really cool to keep a journal for the summer, summer, summer. What do you guys think about Alex's parennnnnts? If youuuuuuu ask meeee, I thinkkkkkkk that they are a little weirrrrrd. Sigh. I mean, commmme onnnnnn, I would never dress like his mom, mom, mom.

Yeah, Joe. Hopefully you noticed that when he came! Anyways, Alpha and Omega! I was right! Mr. Furtz did give Carl Ray that ring and the money. Man, I knew it all along. . . On page 197 didn't you guys think that it was weird just thinking that Alex and Carl Ray might've been brothers? I mean, it would've been very exotic if Mary Lou was in love with her own cousin! I have noticed that ever since Carl Ray left for home and came back to Mary Lou's house to drop her off, he has really opened up a bit. You know, 'expanding his vocabulary?' I am actually very proud of him for doing so. I thought that it was really funny (on page 207-208) that Alex and Mary kissed! I have one question? Why did Beth Ann think that the story Carl Ray told her (on page 211) was disgusting? On page 225 I can really, really, really understand Mary Lou. She talked about how she read back through the journal and didn't even really recognize herself. I think this is because Mary Lou is becoming more mature. I have felt that way before, have you guys? I have one more question: What do you think Mr. Birkway (Mary's teacher) thinks about this journal?
